Photographer Steve Young was born and raised in the Upper St. John Valley, and previously operated Young’s Photography from 1988-2004, and Poor Persons Photo in 1981 and 1982.
Steve offers a rare combination of thousands of hours of photography & darkroom experience over 20+ years, along with expertise and experience in digital photography.
Yes, that’s right folks… Steve was a “real” photographer, mastering the craft the hard way, back-in-the-day, you know, before digital made it easier, or at least easier to be decent.
Steve successfully completed advanced one-on-one independent study with such world-renowned photographic masters as Ansel Adams, Leslie Stroebel, and Phil Davis. Yep, he read their books! In addition, he suffered the trials of wrinkly fingers, darkness, time, patience, and endurance in thousands of hours of making photographs in the darkroom.
You have to “know” the science to be able to apply the craft you know, otherwise, it’s just by accident.
